Politidumb of the Week

Up first for nomination this week is Melissa Perry-Harris, political commentator and habitual race baiter on MSNBC, which means essentially none of you have seen her or know who she is. MSNBC host Melissa Harris-Perry opened her show last Sunday castigating those who labelled the Affordable Care Act by its colloquial moniker: “Obamacare.” She said that the word was originally created as a “derogatory term,” designed by white men as a way to delegitimize President Barack Obama and his achievement.
“I want to talk today about a controversial word. It’s a word that has been with us for years, and like it or not, it’s indelibly printed in the pages of American history,” Harris-Perry opened. “A word that was originally intended as a derogatory term, meant to shame and divide and demean.”
“The word was conceived of by a group of wealthy white men who needed a way to put themselves above and apart from a black man; to render him inferior and unequal and to diminish his accomplishments,” she continued.
“At first, he rose above it, hoping that if he could just make a cause for what he achieved, his opponents would fail in making their label stick,” Harris-Perry added. “But no matter how many successes that he had as president, he realized there were still many people for whom he’d never be anything more than that one disparaging word.”

Herman Cain says,
Melissa Perry Harris of MSNBC has weighed in again, which means I have my daily dose of entertainment. ObamaCare is now about race, you see. Not the law. The term. Did you know this? The term "ObamaCare" apparently has coded racial implications. Oh my goodness, this woman is hilarious.
I couldn’t help but just laugh out loud at this. Is this woman serious? Since ObamaCare is having problems, they no longer want to call it ObamaCare and it's now the Affordable Care Act. The only problem with that this name is a lie - since the insurance they want to force you to buy on the ObamaCare . . . er, sorry, Affordable Care Act exchanges, is decidedly unaffordable.
About this: Here's a question I saw someone raise on Facebook. Why do Obama supporters get so upset when we talk about "ObamaCare," but conservatives proudly use the term "Reaganomics"?
I think the question answers itself.
When one of my looney liberal friends back in DC got on my case for using the term ObamaCare when the act first passed I replied, when you all come up with an accurate name for the not so Affordable Care Act, I'll be happy to use it instead. Three years later I'm still waiting.

Second up for Politidumb of the Week is Dr. Ezekiel Emauel, architect of ObamaCare and brother of Chicago Mayor and former Chief of Staff to President Obama.  It's a tight, insular, elitist group the Democrats got running your lives.  Dr. Emanuel clarified what the word "period" means.
CHRIS WALLACE, HOST: President Obama famously promised, if you like your doctor you can keep your doctor. Doesn't that turn out to be just as false, just as misleading, as his promise about if you like your plan you can keep your plan? Isn't it a fact, sir, that a number, most, in fact, of the Obamacare health plans that are being offered on the exchanges exclude a number of doctors and hospitals to lower costs?
EZEKIEL EMANUEL: The president never said you were going to have unlimited choice of any doctor in the country you want to go to.
WALLACE: Wait. No. He asked a question. If you like your doctor, you can keep your doctor. Did he not say that, sir?
EMANUEL: He didn't say you could have unlimited choice.
WALLACE: It's a simple yes or no question. Didn't he say if you like your doctor, you can keep your doctor?
EMANUEL: Yes. But look, if you want to pay more for an insurance company that covers your doctor, you can do that. This is a matter of choice. We know in all sorts of places you pay more for certain -- for a wider range of choices or wider range of benefits. The issue isn't the selective networks. People keep saying, 'Oh, the problem is you're going to have a selective network.'
WALLACE: Well, if you lose your doctor or lose your hospital --
EMANUEL: Let me just say something. People are going to have a choice as to whether they want to pay a certain amount for a selective network or pay more for a broader network.

So period means you can keep what the doctor you have if you are willing to drop the plan that you were promised that you could keep and pay through the nose for a new plan that may or may not include your doctor. My these social engineering, power mongering, political thugs are so wise, so smart, so competent and so honest. Hey Dumbocrats, how effing dumb do you think we are????? You people are rotten to the core; you have zero integrity.

But this week's award goes to John Boehner, Speaker of the House. Speaker Boehner pulled a political boner when he attacked the Tea Party earlier this week for criticizing acceptance of a budget deal that jettisoned the protections and budget discipline of the sequester.
"Frankly, I just think they've lost all credibility," Boehner told reporters Thursday at his weekly press briefing.
After years of enduring broadsides from groups such as Heritage Action, Boehner's last straw came this week when the collection of Washington-based groups attacked the bipartisan budget deal that Rep. Paul Ryan (R-Wis.) negotiated, with several announcing they opposed it before Ryan and his Senate counterpart, Patty Murray (D-Wash.), unveiled it Monday night.
"Are you kidding me?" Boehner screamed into the microphone Thursday, in mocking tones. On Wednesday, Boehner issued a brief attack on the groups, accusing them of "using" his GOP lawmakers, particularly younger, less experienced lawmakers.
On Thursday, he relished having a longer, more expansive critique of the groups. "I don't care what they do," Boehner said at one point, suggesting that after years of helping sabotage pacts that he and his lieutenants were trying to craft, the conservative activists had finally begun to "step over the line" by opposing Ryan's deal.

When Republican excess is combined with Democratic excess, as has been the rule for decades, no one is the winner, and the burden will be passed most dramatically to our children and grandchildren.
In 1991 when John Boehner was first elected to the House of Representatives the U.S. debt was $3.2 trillion dollars. It has risen since by more than 5 times to $17.3 trillion. And this guy thinks he should be lecturing and demeaning people who are actually committed to getting the abysmal spiralling debt bomb under control? Dude, you are either horribly incompetent or a liar about your credentials. For starting a political war that he cannot and will not win, John Boehner has got to go and for that he is the Politidumb and Dumber of the Week award winner.

  1. While not quite the level of The Economist, this is a superior blog that has much meaningful to say. Keep up the great work.
